The 35-70/3.5 macro as an everyday lens

I have been spending a lot of time with the MD 35-70/3.5 macro as the primary lens on my NEX recently. I have found it a remarkably flexible lens to use. The roughly 50 – 105 effective focal length (on my NEX 5n) is pretty useful for a lot of situations and the addition to the  1:7 and 1:4 close-up modes really makes it useful for the kinds of shooting I prefer.
